To russell2030 (1 ...
To russell2030 (1 week ag) why do you ever need empty aluminum cans in there?

I think it ists in acting as another separation, but if you use recycled double glazing, matt black paper should work really well as it has a flash point well above any temp you will ever get in the cabinet, or a matt-blacked slim radiator or fire-bricks which will slow-release late into the night. Full sealed out-of-date cans of liquid will store heat the best for slow release after the sun goes down though:o)

What an excellent ...
What an excellent idea. So if you have enough cans and link them all to flow one tower to the next with the cold air coming in at the bottom & zig zaging up to the top (horizontally not vertically), then you'd probably not even need the solar panel to drive the air! Hot air rises naturally, coz of convection. I knew someone who had a home made solar water heater that used covevection (no pump) simply because the panel was on the garden & the tank was in the attic. Hot water rises too!
